Psyllium husk absorbs water in the gut, forming a gel-like substance that softens stools and facilitates their passage through the intestines, thereby promoting regular bowel movements [1].
Psyllium husk expands in the stomach upon absorbing water, promoting a feeling of fullness [2]. It also slows nutrient absorption, allowing nutrients to reach the distal small intestine. This delayed delivery stimulates GLP-1 secretion [3], which plays a key role in supporting satiety and appetite regulation.

A shorter-chain version of inulin, FOS is a rapidly fermenting prebiotic that promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, including Bifidobacteria [6]. Typically found in fruits and vegetables, our FOS is derived from chicory root.
Psyllium is a dietary fibre consisting primarily of highly branched arabinoxylans (arabinose and xylose polymers). It forms a viscous gel that retains water throughout colon, increasing stool water content, forming a soft, bulky mass that is easier to pass.
Fibersol® is a soluble dietary fiber produced by ADM/Matsutani Singapore Pte., Ltd.

Historically, our ancestors consumed close to 100 g of fiber per day [10]. Today, modern diets fall drastically short: Netherlands 21 g/day [11], UK 19 g/day [12], US 17 g/day [13], Asia 8–10 g/day [14].
Women often face an even wider gap. In the Netherlands, 10% of men and just over 5% of women meet the recommendation [15]. In the UK, only 4% of women and 13% of men [12] reach it.
In the Netherlands, the recommendation is 30 g/day for women and 40 g/day for men [15]. Evidence shows that going even higher, toward ~45 g/day, can increase short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) production and promotes the activity of fiber-degrading enzymes in the gut microbiome [16,17].
It’s not about filling that gap with fiber supplements alone. Real, whole foods: vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, are the foundation (we’ll share more practical strategies in our blog). Fibersentials FLOW is a fiber gut health supplement to help make that journey easier. Each serving adds 5.6 g of fiber: dense, convenient, and designed to complement—not replace—your daily efforts.
Why? Because even small, steady changes help you cross the line and your gut will thank you for it.

Committing to three months was worth it. My skin feels more hydrated and smooth, and I actually look forward to taking it every day.
This is my favorite. I take it daily and my skin looks fresher while my digestion feels calmer. It’s nice to see results inside and out.*
I was looking for something to support both metabolism and gut health. This duo works! I feel satisfied for longer and my digestion has improved too.*
This combo really clicked for me. My stomach feels more settled and I don’t get the same sugar cravings in the afternoon. It fits my weight goals without being complicated.*
I wanted something simple to keep my gut in balance. Taking CORE and FLOW together feels complete, my digestion has been smoother and I feel lighter overall.
Glucomannan is one of the few EFSA-approved ingredients for weight loss, I love that this blend is science-backed and clean.*
We all know psyllium helps soften stools, relieve constipation, and promote satiety—but FLOW is more than just psyllium. This fiber gut health supplement combines fast- and slow-fermenting fibers, using psyllium as a delivery vehicle to provide complete digestive and microbiome support.
It depends on your goal. For general fiber support, start with ½ or 1 serving (1 scoop = 2.8 g fiber or 2 scoops = 5.6 g fiber) and adjust as needed. If you’re targeting specific needs like relieving constipation or supporting satiety, you may benefit from 4–6 scoops daily. Start low and build gradually.
We always use a level scoop for accuracy. Heaped scoops vary too much to be reliable.
Yes, mix into yogurt, smoothies, or porridge. Just follow with water.
Take it during the day with plenty of hydration. Avoid taking it right before bed.
Mild discomfort can happen when increasing fiber intake or introducing new fibers. Start with a smaller amount (e.g. 1 scoop daily), let your gut adjust for 1–2 weeks, and then increase gradually.
Psyllium has a unique dual action: it softens hard stools when you’re constipated and can help firm loose stools. Its gel-forming properties help normalize bowel movements rather than trigger diarrhea. Just remember to stay well-hydrated for best results.
We recommend at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily to help the fibers work properly and reduce the risk of intestinal discomfort.
FLOW contains only pure, water-loving fibers—no anti-clumping agents. To prevent lumps, sprinkle gradually while stirring. Blending into smoothies also works well.
Absolutely. FLOW complements probiotics perfectly. Its prebiotic fibers nourish beneficial gut bacteria, helping them thrive.
As with any supplement, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before using Fibersentials FLOW during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Fibersentials FLOW is formulated with adult needs in mind. However, psyllium husk is commonly recommended by healthcare providers for children, particularly for constipation support. If you’re considering it for your child, we recommend discussing it with your healthcare professional to ensure the right guidance for their specific needs.
Yes, Fibersentials FLOW contains only plant-based ingredients and is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.
